The 2018 Kīlauea caldera collapse revealed pressure changes in two magma reservoirs
A USGS study reconstructed how pressure evolved in two reservoirs beneath the summit of Kīlauea volcano during its 2018 caldera collapse. The models estimate episodic increases and a net decrease in the shallow reservoir, and gradual depressurization in the deeper one.
